The Green Room

Coming Soon: Caroline Zapolosky

Musician, poet, and visual artist Caroline Zapolosky is from Corby, North Northants, and is a well-known talent in Corby and the surrounding creative community. I met with Caroline to chat and selected works from her portfolio to showcase in The Green Room at RAG.

What I learned from Caroline is that her work is a direct response to something very primal, deep within her soul, that manifests with intuition and an unspoken knowledge.

When you see her work, you can’t help but be mesmerised by the eyes she paints, drawing your focus to sometimes an uneasy feeling.  Artists throughout history have used the eyes to command attention and tell a story, emphasising powerful emotions, carrying symbolic weight, and reflecting their inner journeys through their gaze. Caroline’s work feels vulnerable in a particular way, and I am left with a searching feeling, a yearning for a truth, but what truth?

About The Green Room

The Green Room is the newest and most inclusive community-based art exhibition space in Corby for artists and creators interested in seeing their work in an intimate gallery setting.

The Green Room has a cosy vibe with a domestic ‘front room’ feel, evoking a work-on-view homely context.

Display your work for a month, and your audience could include groups that use RAG, Corby Collective, Rag Poets, Corby Community Arts, and visitors to RAG in general. You will also be featured on our socials and RAG’s website.

RAG will open its doors one weekend per month (dates can be discussed and agreed) for you to invite friends and family to gather for a viewing of your collection with soft refreshments and a comfortable seating area to chat and observe your artwork. Please feel free to provide additional refreshments and treats, i.e., wine and beer snacks, if you choose.

You will have the opportunity to share any links, statements, etc, and any other supporting material if you choose.

The cost of using the Green Room is £60 per month.

Work submitted should be prepared to display with the necessary fixings in place.

A short paragraph explaining your work can be submitted if you choose. This will be used to accompany your art online.

Titles, medium, prices (if appropriate), and contact details for potential customers to use if they are interested in making a purchase.
