Spike
Michael John Pike (Spike Pike) is a former soldier that has witnessed the truly ugly side of the human race. He is now a peace activist and performance poet. He is a polemic hard hitting writer, he takes no prisoners when attacking the psychopaths that profit from war, sanctions and famine.
He says, ‘Poetry has given me so much, my guide to a more enlightened and spiritual way of life. Poetry has opened doors for me, but before I was able to walk through these opened doors, I had to confront my demons. I used alcohol and drugs to mask my inner conflict. My 40’s were a nightmare, staggering from one drunken, coked up binge to another.
Writing and performing poetry saved my life. In my 50’s I spoke at schools, performed at the Edinburgh Fringe, the Belfast Feile, the Derry Feile, and 100’s of venues across the UK, even going to America to perform.
Now in my 60’s, I have clarity. I see life through uncorrupted eyes. I see the sickness in our species. How do we heal this sickness? By learning to heal ourselves. Once awakened, there is no return to slumber.
